How to order custom work
Melissa Hood is currently accepting a limited number of commissions per year.
Commission Paintings
Paintings can be done on canvas or wood panels. Paintings can be finished with clear varnish or resin.
Pricing- All custom art requires a deposit of $50. No painting will begin without deposit. Prices start at $1.25 per square inch for 8X10” works on canvas. Cost of resin finish will start at $30 and increase with size.
Design- the buyer and artist will discuss the subject matter and design and confirm details in writing before the canvas is prepped for painting. All designs will be created by and in the style of Melissa Hood. Melissa will not copy the work of other artists or use photo references with copyright. Melissa can use your photos if discussed. *Melissa will not paint portraits of people, Disney characters, or any other artists’ work on anything. Melissa will own the copyright to all original designs and may use images after sale.

Timing- Artwork will be completed within 2-4 weeks of receiving deposit. This is subject to change due to shipping and volume of orders.

Framing- Melissa Hood will not be responsible for framing works unless agreed upon with customer.
Shipping- Shipping is available and will be paid for by the customer. It is suggested that the customer insures the work. Melissa Hood is not responsible for any damaged caused during shipping. Melissa will pack the artwork as best she can to protect the work.

Payment- Payment is due in full at completion of artwork. No work will be released without full payment. If full payment is not received within 90 days of the completion of the artwork, Melissa Hood will post the artwork for sale and deposit will not be refunded.

Melissa Hood will own the rights to all artworks she creates. Melissa holds the right to reproduce the art or to use it for promotional purposes.
